The Georgetown Business Association (GBA) keeps members tuned into this year's major political races, including contenders in the less visible races.  Last Wednesday they hosted a get-acquainted reception for at-large Councilmember Kwame Brown.

Among the attendees at L2 in Caddy's Alley in West Georgetown, were Joe Giannino, president, Rokas Beresniovas, vice president and Elizabeth Webster, secretary, respectively of GBA, Susan Calloway, Jim Wilcox, ANC Commissioners Bill Starrels and Ed Solomon, the latter with his daughter Hope and wife Gerri, and Davis Kennedy, publisher of The Current Newspapers.  Newcomers included Skip Maraney of the mail contractors association on Capitol Hill and Kathy Darling, who brought her sister, Debbie Von Buskirk, a DC resident and apparently undecided voter in the chairman’s race.
